Welcome to the June edition of The Adviser’s Notebook.

Winter has come and for most people in Australia, its been the coldest start for many years so we hope you are well and keeping warm.

In this edition, we have a number of great articles from the last month to keep you abreast of the rapidly changing economic conditions we are all now facing. We have some great EOFY tips to save you time and money, an explainer on inflation and how interest rates will impact you, a rundown on renewable energy as well as what you can do to keep warm and enjoy this winter season.

The Reserve Bank of Australia’s announcement has been battling inflationary concerns and in the past 2 months lifted interest rates for the first time in 11 years which has seen the major banks quickly follow suit which saw official interest rates rise of 0.85%. This will add to cost-of-living pressures as wage growth is still lagging behind these increases so there will be more pain to come no doubt.

As Inflation skyrockets and Interest rates keep on rising households are doing it tough, struggling to pay the bills and consumers are dipping into their savings thus growth is expected and set to slow.

It’s the end of the financial year, time to start thinking about your tax return and listing and classifying expenses so you can consider claiming a tax deduction for any of your expenses, we will give you a run-down of what to look out for.

The impact of low-interest rates has been a major factor in the ongoing growth in housing prices in Australia, with housing growth starting to cool but still at unaffordable levels, we look at how the rising interest rates will impact the housing sector in Australia as interest repayments start to increase rapidly. Read below for more details.

Climate change awareness can be seen in shaping the global economy, governments are planning how to reduce emissions, the environmental performance of companies, and most especially consumers are more conscious than before about their carbon footprints. Take some time out to understand the different types of renewable energy.

Now that world has been opened for traveling again, you may want to start and consider Australia’s winter experience, your favorite ski places, or just embracing the warmth of the north.

The team at Your Wealth Hub Advice hopes you have an excellent end to the financial year, stay warm!
